Eric is the first point of contact when Dungeness Lifeboat is requested and is in charge of the day to day matters relating to the running of the Lifeboat Station. He is a chartered fishing boat skipper and lives at Dungeness. In 2006 he received binoculars from the RNLI in recognition of 15 years voluntary service to the station. |
Peter Stretton

Peter has been involved with Dungeness Lifeboat
since 1993. He was a crew member with Littlestone
lifeboat for 14 years before retiring at 45.
He moved up to Dungeness and stayed as a crew member
until he was 55 and then became a tractor driver for
the next four years and has been the DLA at the
station for the since 2002. Peter lives
at Littlestone with his partner. He has two
children and two grandchildren. He works at
the local power station as an engineer and lists his
hobbies as fishing and flying.

Ken Thomas

Ken is one of the two Deputy Launching Authorities who help the LOM with the running of the Lifeboat Station. He lives at Dungeness and works as a fisherman.

Stuart Adams
Dungeness Lifeboat Coxswain. |
|
|
Stuart is the full time Coxswain of Dungeness Lifeboat
and the Lifeboat Training Co-ordinator. His main role
is to take command of the lifeboat on service calls, handle
the boat when along side a casualty and if necessary co-ordinate
surface searches involving other vessels looking for casualties.
His day to day role is the upkeep of the boat and equipment. His
job also includes the planning and organising of crew
training between Dungeness and the Lifeboat College in Poole.
He joined the crew in 1977. He lives close to the station
at Lydd on Sea and is married to Lisa, they have two children,
Natalie and Jason. In 1992 he received the Chairman's letter
of thanks and 1997 he received a long service medal from
the RNLI. In 2006 he received a letter of thanks from the
Director of Operations.

Trevor Bunney
Dungeness Lifeboat
Full Time Mechanic & Deputy Second Coxswain.
|

|
Trevor is the full time Mechanic and
Deputy Second Coxswain at the station. He joined the
crew in 1986. In 2002 he received a Director of Operations
letter of thanks, in 2006 he received a long service
medal from the RNLI, and in 2006 he received another
Director of Operations letter of thanks. He lives
at Dungeness and has two children.

Mark Richardson
Dungeness Lifeboat Deputy
Second Coxswain.

Mark is a retained Deputy Second
Coxswain at the station and joined the crew in 1987.
In 1992 he received a Chairman's letter of thanks,
in 2002 he received a Director of Operations letter
of thanks and in 2006 he received a long service
medal from the RNLI and another Director of Operations
letter of thanks. He was born at Dungeness
and still lives at Lydd On Sea with his wife and
three children. He owns the local fish
shop which has been in his family for 70 years.
His lists his hobby as football and is a keen supporter
of Gillingham Football Club.

Roger Gillett
Dungeness Lifeboat
Retained Second Mechanic.
|
|
|
Roger was a crew member at Littlestone
before joining Dungness in 1997. He is a retained
Second Mechanic and lives locally. In 2007 he received
a Director of Operations letter of thanks. He works
at the Nuclear Power Station as an engineer and lists
his hobbies as boating, fishing and walking.

Toby Strickett
Dungeness Lifeboat
Third Mechanic and Navigator.

Toby is third mechanic and navigator
on the lifeboat and he joined the crew in 1994. His
day time job is Captain on a local Range
Safety Boat and he lives at Lydd On Sea. He
is married to Katrina and has a son George and daughter
Nicole. He lists his hobby as golf.

Steve Cardew

Prospective Mechanic.

Steve joined the crew in 2004 and
is a Prospective Mechanic. During the day Steve
also works as a mechanic and lives at Lydd at Sea.
He lists his hobbies as:- boats, computer games,
gardening and DIY.

Stuart Morrison

Crew/Navigator.

Stuart joined the crew in 2000 and
is Senior First Aider and Navigator. His daytime
job is fulltime mechanic with Tower RNLI lifeboat
on the Thames. He has two children and one
grandchild and lives at Dungeness. He lists his
hobby as repairing cars.

John lives in Greatstone and joined
the crew in 2002. In 2006 he received a Directors
of Operations letter of thanks. He works as an electrician
and is married with three children and has a grandchild.

Crew.

|
|
Rick joined the crew in 2001. He
is married and lives in Lydd. He works as
a weighbridge attendant and lists his hobbies as
travelling and sport.

Terry Ashford

|
|
Terry joined the crew in 2005. He
is a sales representative and lives at Greatstone
with his partner and two children. Terry lists
his hobbies as jet skiing and fishing.

Simon Collins

Crew.
|
|
|
Simon was a crew member on Littlestone
lifeboat before joining Dungeness lifeboat in 2004.
In 2006 he received a Director of Operations letter
of thanks. Previous to joining the lifeboat service
he was a Royal Navy seaman. He lives in Lydd and
is now a postman. He has four children and
his hobbies include sports, computing and travelling
when he gets a chance.

Mark joined the crew in 2004. He
lives in Lydd on Sea. He is married and has
four children. He works as an engineer and
his hobbies include football, cricket and golf.

Richard Fletcher

Prospective Mechanic.

Richard joined the crew in 2000.
In 2006 he received a Director of Operations letter
of thanks. He lives in Lydd with his partner and
two children and works as a marine engineer.

Gary Clark

|
|
Gary joined the crew in 2006. He
lives at Greatstone and is married with one daughter.
He is a builder and describes his hobbies as running,
windsurfing and computers. His lifeboat kit
has been paid for by the customers of
the Pilot Inn at Dungeness.

Paul Stevens

|
Paul joined the crew in 2007. He
lives in New Romney with his wife and two daughters.
He is a kitchen designer and lists his hobbies as
family outings, fishing, RNLI and golf.

Nigel Packer

|
Nigel joined as a Shore Crew member in 2003 and
became a crew member in 2008. He became Chairman
of Fundraising in 2006 and is also a Sea Safety
Advisor. He works as an engineer and
lives with his wife Wendy and son Noel in Lydd
On Sea.

Anthony Hills
Dungeness Lifeboat Crew.

|
|
Anthony came to the station as shore crew when
he was 19 and joined the lifeboat crew as a trainee
in 2008. He lives in Greatstone and works as a
green keeper at Lydd Golf Club. He has obtained
RYA level 1 and 2 qualifications in sailing and
level 1 in windsurfing. He lists his hobbies as
boat fishing, water sports and mechanics.

Graham Foster

|
Graham is head launcher at the station and is in charge
of the shore crew His duties include beach maintenance
for safe launching and recovery as well as preparations
for a quick and safe turnaround for the lifeboat.
He is in charge of maintenance of the lifeboat carriage
when the boat is afloat and instructs his shore crew
with their responsibilities. Graham is retired and
joined the Shore Crew in 2003, he was appointed Head Launcher
in 2005. In 2006 he became the Fundraising Box Secretary.
He lives in Lydd On Sea with his wife Vivien. He describes
his hobbies as electronics, looking after his landrover
and decorating when pushed!

Tony Mills

Tony joined the Station in 2005. He lives at Greatstone
and is a builder by trade. He assists the head
launcher with his shore duties. He lists
his hobbies as fishing, golf and flying.

Chris Shore

Chris joined the station as tractor driver in 1986.
In 2006 he received a long service medal from the
RNLI. He lives in Dungeness and is a photographer.
He lists his hobbies as fishing, photography and walking.

Martin Flack
Dungeness Lifeboat Tractor Driver.
|
|
|
Martin has been a tractor driver at the station for
since 2002. He lives with his wife Sally and their
four children, Katie, George, Steven and Sarah in Lydd
On Sea. He works locally as a taxi driver.
He lists his hobbies as football (Gillingham No. 1 fan)
and watching his children play football.

Ken has been with the station as tractor driver
since 2002. He is a retired Metropolitan Police
Officer with three grown up children and one Grand
Daughter. He lives in Lydd On Sea with his wife who
works in the local Pharmacy. He lists his hobbies
as golf and lifeboats.

Bill has been a member of the shore
crew since 2005. He lives in New Romney
and works as a plumber. He is married to
Sue and they have three grown up children.

Bernard has been a volunteer at
the station since 2004. His role at the station
is to train the shore crew. He is retired and
is married to Lyne and lives at Greatstone.
He lists his hobbies as restoring diesel engines,
sea fishing (both shore and boat) and making
shrimps nets.

Judith Richardson
Dungeness Lifeboat Press Officer.
|
|
Judith has been a volunteer with the Dungeness RNLI lifeboat for 40 years. She was on the fundraising committee for 20 years when her husband William was coxswain and in January 1998 received a Certificate of Thanks from the the RNLI's Committee of Management for helping the Lifeboat Service. She returned to the fundraising committee when she was made station press officer in July, 2006. She is also a PR representative for the Sea Safety campaign and a voluntary assistant with the RNLI's Sea Safety Road Show. She lists her hobbies as grandchildren, photography and computers.

William Richardson

William has been a volunteer with Dungeness Lifeboat for 43 years. He became a crew member 1964 and emergency mechanic from 1969 until 1997. He became Coxswain in 1977. He was awarded a long service medal from the RNLI. On his retirement as Coxswain in 1997 he was given the RNLI's Coxswain's Certificate of Service which states 'during his period as an officer and crew member he performed his duties to the entire satisfaction of the Institution's Committee of Management and was credited with rescuing 222 lives'. In 2000 he took over one the RNLI's Sea Safety Road Shows and toured the country as a Sea Safety Advisor with his wife Judith. In 2005, William was made Chairman of the Management Committee at the station and In 2006 was made the first Sea Safety Officer for the station. He lists his hobby as fishing (when he can fit it in)
